Because we have upgraded our Rambusters Easy Crossbred Ram Shearing setup since our last video demo, we’ve made a new one. Watch the new video and you’ll know what to expect when we come to shear at your farm, wherever you are in Western Australia, in the Wheatbelt, south coast or great southern regions. Can you believe how easy it is to shear crossbred rams?
Our Peak Hill Industries’ ShearEzy machine is mounted on a truck, which means that when we travel we can tow our accommodation with us. It also adds to the safety of the operation, with better security for the rams. We have added bars over the lead-up race to stop rams attempting to jump out, and they exit via a ramp instead of jumping off the old trailer.
This video (created by Caro Telfer of Australian Farm Albums) shows Colin Clarke shearing crossbred rams at a farm near Williams, in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. There are captions explaining the features including easy handling of heavy crossbred rams, and the simple restraint system which holds the rams securely. It shows the machine turning the ram over, alleviating heavy lifting. You will notice that the ram looks quite relaxed throughout the process – even when it struggles, it cannot kick.
